I’ve been writing from the road, but keep forgetting to publish the posts before I hit the sack at night. (12/28 – 12/29) Graduation was much like any other graduation only the graduates had to stand at attention or parade … Continue reading
It is hard to believe that our time in New York has come to an end. It seems like only yesterday the hubby showed me our new apartment for the first time. We spent our first night on an air mattress in the middle of the living room, fighting for the blanket. This was not the only time our relationship would be tested over the next six months. We had to learn to live together after two months of being separated for training, adjust to shift work and its crazy schedule, figure out how to raise a puppy, organize a cross-country move… I think we came out of NY with a deeper appreciation of time spent together and a sense of independence in our relationship (I no longer catch myself wanting to ask my parents for permission to do things).
We also had the opportunity to do some pretty cool things:
Horse racing, NYC (multiple times), hiking, going to Vermont, train rides, riding the Subway for the first time, two half marathons, Magic Hat Brewery, Ben and Jerry’s Factory, World Trade Center Memorial, bike riding, running trial hunting, NYC Ballet, tasting mineral water, Baseball Hall of Fame.
While I never thought these words would come out of my mouth… I will miss Saratoga Springs, New York.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures I have captured in the last 6 months.
We look forward to our next adventure in Washington.
I’m awkwardly sitting in the corner of my kitchen typing this because it is packing and shipping day! Yesterday, I worked my butt off getting everything ready for the move. According to my husband “everything for the move will fall … Continue reading
I have been wanting a good camera for a while now. I made sure both my parents and my husband knew about it too. So, boy was I excited when my husband told me we were going to Best Buy … Continue reading
***we went to Vermont 1,000 years ago, but I kept forgetting to do the post. Better late than never. Nothing like waking up and saying, “let’s go to Vermont today!” It didn’t go down exactly like that, but almost. We … Continue reading
Wait. Is it seriously November? Say it isn’t so. Yesterday my husband thought today was October 1. Yet he knew it was Halloween??? And he knows the Nation’s secrets. Speaking of Halloween… What does one do on Halloween with a … Continue reading
Upon checking the weather update this morning, I realized I should probably get more prepared for hurricane Sandy than I am (which is not really at all). We are the yellow star. At first I headed to BJ’s, but decided … Continue reading
Last night I decided to stay up until the hubby got home. He walked through the door some time around midnight, which would have been fine if I hadn’t woken up at 7am, killed myself at Boot Camp, talked to … Continue reading

After days and days of rain, we took advantage of the clear sky and went on a hike. This time we decided to hike Sleeping Beauty Mountain, which is part of the Lake George/Adirondack region. I was a bit skeptical at … Continue reading
